Questions and Answers
What happens if my pet is hurt or ill when he is staying with you?
When your pet joins the BarkingBear family, you will be provided with a welcome pack to read and fill in. You will give your chosen emergency contact details for us to contact if you need someone else to collect your pet in an emergency or if they need to stay elsewhere. You also can provide us with any preferred vets or pet services that you would like us to contact if the need arises. If your pet becomes unwell, we will ask you to collect them as soon as you can, as they probably want to be comfortable back in their own home, and you know your pets needs best. In the event of an emergency where your pet is injured or seriously unwell, we will take them straight to the vet and contact you immediately. We understand that dogs are inquisitive animals and your pet may enjoy eating random twigs and other things they find on walks. Most of the time this is completely harmless however we will always take your pets upset stomach or loss of appetite seriously, and inform you of any of our concerns regarding their health.
How many dogs can you walk at once?
This depends on the dogs we are walking! Different dogs enjoy different walks and we aim to group them together based on the length of the walk and their exercise needs. We usually walk dogs in groups of 2, 3 or 4 however we also offer individual walks for dogs who are not ready to socialise fully yet or enjoy a short, quiet walk.
My dog is a senior, how can you cater to her needs?
We have had lots of senior visitors come to stay with us. Depending on the dogs nature and needs, we try our best to give them a quiet, stress free environment usually in their own room and without any loud noises or hard to reach beds/sofas. However, we cannot guarantee that there will not be other playful dogs around who may indirectly cause stress for your senior pup. The environment can often by loud and busy, with lots of dogs coming and going everyday. If this may be stressful and agitating for your dog, it may be best to arrange a visit beforehand to see if you think they would be comfortable. Our busy, editable environment is not suitable for very elderly dogs, however please do get in touch if you are in need or any comfort breaks or short walks for your dog whilst you are away and we will do our best to help you.
